Taj Mahal Hotel Gleason Research Associates, Inc. (GRA) is pleased to announce that Michael Schexnayder has joined GRA as the Senior Scientist. Mr. Schexnayder will serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Technical Red Teaming, Gray Beard Panels, Feasibility Studies, and Systems Engineering Oversight across all business units. He will also provide Strategic Planning to help identify and fill Warfighter capability gaps with GRA’s corporate capabilities. GRA President Chuck Vessels stated, “Mike is well respected throughout DOD for his strong technical and management expertise, and he will be a tremendous asset to GRA and our customers”. GRA CEO Dr. Bob Yates added, “Mike had many other business opportunities upon his retirement from Government Service and we are delighted that he has chosen to join us at GRA.”

Prior to joining GRA, Mr. Schexnayder served 38 years in military and civilian Government positions, and retired from the Senior Executive Service as the Deputy Commander for Research, Development and Acquisition (RD&A) at the US Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Strategic Command (SMDC/ARSTRAT). As the deputy to the commander, Mr. Schexnayder managed SMDC/ARSTRAT’s RD&A activities and was responsible for overseeing all materiel development functions, test and evaluation activities, and simulations support including the Space and Missile Defense Future Warfare Center, the Space and Missile Defense Technical Center which includes the U.S. Army Kwajalein Atoll/Reagan Test Site in the Marshall Islands and the High Energy Laser Systems Test Facility located at White Sands Missile Range, N.M., the Big Crow Program Office at Kirtland AFB and the Technical Interoperability and Matrix Center. He also served as the Head of Contracting Activity.

Prior to his SMDC assignment, Mr. Schexnayder served as the Associate Director for Systems in the Aviation and Missile Research and Development Center and as the Director of the Technical Management Directorate. He was responsible for all reimbursable scientific and engineering work performed by the AMRDEC for external customers, to include industry. Mr. Schexnayder served as the Deputy Director of the Army Objective Force Task Force (OFTF) from February to December 2002. Mr. Schexnayder has also served as the Acting Deputy to the Commander of the Research, Development and Engineering Command – a major subordinate command of the Army Materiel Command.
