Inventory Specialist - Afghanistan

Personnel employed by Gleason Research Associates. Inc. (GRA) as an Inventory Specialist within the Business Services and Systems business unit must be able to accomplish the following Essential Functions and meet the Physical Demands in order to perform this job. This position is based in Afghanistan and requires a 6 month (optional 12 month) commitment to the contract. Personnel must be capable of performing their duties in challenging environmental and working conditions, with extreme temperature ranges and long, STANDARD working hours consisting of 12 hours a day / 7 days a week. Report Date to Afghanistan NLT 27 Dec 11.

Essential Functions

  • Track and maintain expendable, non-expendable and durable property in the GRA proprietary Auto-Scan Tracking System (ASTS©) database.
  • Conduct 100% inventories using GRA's ASTS© compatible barcode scanners.
  • Process paperwork for corrections, barcode re-orders, turn ins, lateral transfers and additions
  • Secure and Track purchasing documentation and location changes.
  • Maintain manual filing system to track inventory transactions.
  • Issue and update Sub & Temporary Hand Receipts.
  • Track calibration and maintenance status of applicable equipment
  • Construct and dismantle modular furniture.
  • Perform administrative duties (copying, faxing, and typing).
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Interact professionally with others.
  • Follow published GRA standard operating procedures for all property related tasks/functions.
  • Conduct ASTS© training for clients as needed

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 Ibs
  • Must be able to walk and stand for up to 8 hours per day
  • Must be able to climb, crawl, squat and bend continuously throughout the day
  • Must be able to sit for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
